Retouching jewelry in Photoshop

Hello, goslings.

I am undertaking a new project that requires jewelry touch up in Photoshop (I have photoshop 7.0) and I was wondering if, either, anyone can give me any tips on what to do, or if anyone can point me to a tutorial that can show me how?
